The Church of Hagia Irene, dedicated to the peace of God, was the first great Christian church built by Constantine in Constantinople, where he took mass during the city's dedication ceremonies in 330. It stood as one of the two greatest churches in the capital until the Nika Revolt of 532, when it burned to the ground alongside Hagia Sophia.
